On 22 September 2015, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation was signed to promote climate technology development and deployment by ADB and the Hunan Development and Reform Commission (Hunan DRC) in Changsha, Hunan, PRC. Since 2016, ADB and the Government of Hunan Province have co-hosted three successful international forums on low carbon technology. The forums have been showcasing global, regional, and country-level success stories in promoting the development and deployment of low carbon technologies. The Forum in 2018 brought together over 500 people from 37 countries facilitating both North-South and South-South discussions and exchanges at the Forum and afterwards.
This year, we are proud to announce that ADB and the Hunan Department of Ecology and Environment (DEE) will be hosting the 2019 Asia-Pacific Forum on Low Carbon Technology on 16-18 October at the Broad Group Campus, Broad Town, in Changsha. With the theme, “Low Carbon Solutions for Our Green Future”, the purpose of the Forum is to support and promote cooperation, innovation and commercially scalable low carbon solutions for green development in urban areas and the rural countryside.
ADB and DEE are once again co-hosting the 2019 Asia-Pacific Forum on Low Carbon Technology during 16-18 October 2019. With the theme, “Sharing Low-Carbon Technology for a Blue and Beautiful Sky”, the main purpose of the Forum is to support and promote substantive cooperation in low-carbon city development and high-technology investment, while encouraging deep discussion among participants through parallel sessions, bilateral meetings, and technology roadshows.
